Our Mission
Salmon Coast Society is a charity that serves as a hub for coastal research, enabling high-quality and innovative science to sustain wild salmon and their ecosystems.
Salmon Coast operates in the unceded territories of the Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw: the Dzawada’enuxw and Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis First Nations, and the Gwawaenuk Tribe. We can be found deep in the Broughton Archipelago, near Echo Bay, British Columbia.
Salmon Coast supports innovative research, public education, community outreach, and ecosystem awareness to achieve lasting conservation measures for the lands and waters of the Broughton Archipelago and surrounding areas.
How do we do this?
– Support place-based research out of our field station.
– Foster and inspire a community of young scientists to push the boundaries of science and conservation.
– Create a network of salmon defenders through public education and outreach, connecting with our wide alumni base.
