Local Nations
Salmon Coast operates in the unceded territories of the Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw: the Dzawada’enuxw and Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis First Nations, and the Gwawaenuk Tribe. We seek to work under the guidance and protocols of these nations and the Musgamagw Dazawada’enuxw Tribal Council.
Salmon Coast also collaborates and works with the Broughton Aquaculture Transition Initiative, a coalition of the ‘Namgis, Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis and Mamalilikulla First Nations.
Partner Labs and Universities
Salmon Coast hosts and collaborates with professors and students at several universities. We are always looking to expand our partnerships and take on researchers from other institutions.
Local Stakeholders
We owe a debt of gratitude to our mentor Billy Proctor, and to all our great friends in the community of Echo Bay.
Donors + Supporters
Our work would not be possible with the support of our donors. We are incredibly grateful to the organizations and foundations that contribute to our projects and general operating funds.
Societies & Institutes
Salmon Coast is keen to collaborate with other not-for-profits and organizations that work in similar spaces. From collaborating on research to helping amplify each other’s messages, we are always looking for ways to come together with like-minded groups.
